Academic Renal Pathologist

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks an academic renal pathologist. Responsibilities include clinical service on the renal biopsy service to include native and transplant renal biopsies with associated ancillary studies. The renal biopsy service is growing, and currently analyzes approximately 1,700 renal biopsies annually. This position offers numerous opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration as well as personal career advancement. The ideal candidate is an academically productive pathologist with excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care and an interest in advancing the field of renal pathology. The opportunity to participate in non-renal EM cases is also available. In addition to clinical responsibilities, faculty are expected to play an active role in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualified candidates will hold an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified in AP or AP/CP from the American Board of Pathology. The candidate must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Tennessee. Fellowship training in renal pathology is required. Rank and remuneration will be determined by qualifications and experience.
